April 2026 Paws to Read Registration Opens February 17th at the Jarvis, Dunnville, and Caledonia Branches

In partnership with Therapeutic Paws of Canada, the Haldimand County Public Library is offering an exciting literacy program designed to help children ages 5 and up practice their reading skills.

This is a wonderful free program designed to help reluctant readers or those who need to build confidence reading out loud.

Registration for March Break programs begins Tuesday, February 17th.

March Break Programs

2026 March Break Red Cross Babysitting Course at the Hagersville and Caledonia Branches

Starting Tuesday, February 17, Haldimand County youth ages 11 and up can register for the Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Courses being offered over the March Break at the Hagersville and Caledonia branches.

Each course will run over 2 days from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Participants will be required to attend both days at the branch and demonstrate a responsible and mature attitude in order to receive their certificate of completion.

Registration must be done in person at the library branch, with the $40.00 program fee due at the time of registration. Please note, the fee can only be paid by cash or by cheque.

2026 Crafternoons

Check out the Crafternoons' webpage for all of the 2026 dates, and a list of all of the crafts we will be making this year.

Crafternoons is an adult only craft session held at the Jarvis, Caledonia, Hagersville, Dunnville and Cayuga branches. The cost to participate is only $2.00 per person (by cash or cheque) and begins at 1:00 p.m. sharp.

Pre-registration in person is required.

Registration for all sessions is open.

Registration for StoryTime, Tiny Tales, and Other Programs for Children Under 5, Opens February 17th

Registration for library children programs such as StoryTime, Tiny Tales and others opens in each branch on Tuesday February 17th.

Registration must be done in person.
